MyOperator serves 15,000+ Indian businesses and starts at ₹2,500 per month. Smartflo starts at ₹ 1,250 per licence and runs on Tata’s owned carrier network. They are built for different moments in a business’s growth journey. Here is exactly where each one wins and where each one falls short.

EDITORIAL NOTE

📋 A NOTE ON EDITORIAL APPROACH

This blog is published in partnership with Smartflo by Tata Tele Business Services. You should read this knowing where we sit commercially. What we have committed to is editorial honesty which means acknowledging where MyOperator genuinely wins, not just listing Smartflo’s strengths. All pricing, review data, and product information is sourced from publicly available materials as of July 2026.

WHO THIS COMPARISON IS FOR:

→ Indian businesses with 10–50 agents currently on MyOperator who are evaluating whether to stay or move
→ Businesses shortlisting both platforms before a first purchase
→ IT heads and ops leaders who have received demos from both vendors and need a structured comparison

If you are a business with fewer than 5 agents and a very limited budget, MyOperator’s entry plans may be the right fit and this comparison will tell you that honestly.

Choose MyOperator if: you are a small Indian business with 1 – 5 agents who need basic IVR, call routing, and WhatsApp in one affordable dashboard — and your primary concern is getting started quickly with minimal setup friction.

Choose Smartflo if: you have 10+ agents, run high-volume outbound operations, are in a regulated sector (BFSI, healthcare), need carrier-grade reliability backed by an owned network, or require 1600-series compliance, UCaaS, or a full CCaaS suite with AI capabilities.

The platforms are not direct competitors at scale. MyOperator is where many Indian businesses start. Smartflo is where they go when they outgrow it.

THE MOST IMPORTANT DIFFERENCE — INFRASTRUCTURE

Before comparing features and pricing, the infrastructure model deserves its own section because it determines everything else — reliability, compliance posture, SLA accountability, and long-term cost predictability.

MyOperator is a SaaS-layer platform. They build excellent software on top of leased telecom network capacity — SIP trunks and PRI lines from third-party carriers. When those carriers experience regional issues, MyOperator customers experience call failures. MyOperator’s platform may be fully operational while your calls are failing because the underlying carrier has a problem. Their SLA covers platform availability, not carrier-level connectivity.

Smartflo runs on TTBS’s owned telecom infrastructure — 132,000 km of fibre optic network across 60+ Indian cities. TTBS is a DoT-licensed telco, not a software company building on top of leased connectivity. When a regional circuit issue occurs on TTBS’s network, TTBS’s own engineering team resolves it. There is no third-party carrier to escalate to.

For a business making 500 calls per day, this distinction is academic until a carrier goes down. For a BFSI collections team with a 9 AM to noon calling window, or an EdTech admissions team mid-campaign, it is the difference between a recoverable incident and a day of missed targets.

INFRASTRUCTURE VERDICT: Smartflo wins on network ownership and end-to-end SLA accountability. MyOperator’s infrastructure model is standard for Indian SaaS telephony — the same model used by Exotel, Knowlarity, and most other platforms. The question is whether it meets your uptime requirements.

PRICING — WHERE THE REAL COMPARISON GETS INTERESTING

PLAN COMPARISON — WHAT YOU ACTUALLY PAY

⚠️ THE HIDDEN COST MOST BUSINESSES MISS

MyOperator’s auto-dialler is not included in any base plan. It is a paid add-on at approximately ₹700/user/month. For a 25-agent outbound team, that is an additional ₹17,500/month on top of the base plan cost. Multiple independent review analyses cite this as the most common post-purchase surprise for MyOperator customers — 19–40% of negative reviews mention unexpected add-on costs.

For a high-volume outbound team, the true monthly cost of MyOperator at 25 agents with auto-dialler, WhatsApp API, and AI features can be significantly higher than the base plan suggests. Run the full add-on calculation before comparing to Smartflo’s all-inclusive pricing.

PRICING VERDICT: For very small teams (3–5 agents) with basic needs, MyOperator’s entry price is genuinely competitive. For teams of 15+ agents running outbound operations, Smartflo’s pooled calling model and included outbound features typically deliver better total cost predictability. At 25+ agents with AI requirements, MyOperator’s add-on structure can push costs to levels where Smartflo’s platform fee become

WHAT REAL CUSTOMERS SAY — THE REVIEW DATA

This is where the comparison becomes most useful — and most sobering for MyOperator.

MYOPERATOR REVIEW PROFILE (July 2026)

G2: 69% five-star, 15% one-star — with almost nothing in between. This polarisation is unusual and significant. It means the platform works reliably for a segment of customers and fails severely for another. There is no middle ground of “decent but imperfect” experiences in the review data.

Capterra: Mixed feedback on support — some reviewers describe account managers as helpful and responsive; others report the opposite.

Trustpilot: 1.2 rating. MyOperator has not responded to negative reviews on the platform.

The specific complaints that appear across multiple independent reviews in 2025–2026:

“Hero Sales, Zero Support… until the payment was made… 2 months and onboarding is still hanging. No one is picking up.” — G2 reviewer, January 2026

“Took our payment, did not deliver what was promised… asked for a refund… they have taken the money and ghosted.” — G2 reviewer, January 2026

“MyOperator is the ideal cloud phone service if you’re searching for one that excels at dropping calls, disregarding your support requests.” — Capterra reviewer, April 2025

“Totally unprofessional and unreliable.” — Capterra reviewer, July 2025

“The service was suddenly stopped… even after paying full one year.” — Capterra reviewer, November 2024

These are not cherry-picked outliers. The 15% one-star concentration on G2 — combined with a 1.2 Trustpilot rating — represents a pattern of post-sale support failure that appears consistently across platforms. The common thread: the experience before payment and after payment diverge significantly.

ℹ️ In fairness: MyOperator also has a strong body of positive reviews citing ease of setup, helpful account managers, good call management features, and value for small businesses. The 69% five-star rating represents real satisfied customers. The issue is not that the product fails universally — it is that when it fails, the support response is consistently described as absent or ineffective.

SMARTFLO REVIEW PROFILE (July 2026)

G2/SoftwareSuggest/Techjockey: Near-zero public reviews — fewer than 10 across all platforms. This is Smartflo’s single most significant commercial disadvantage. A business researching independently finds almost nothing to read.

One highly visible negative review on Techjockey — citing implementation failure and poor resolution — represents Smartflo’s most damaging public content. There is no public response or remediation narrative on the platform.

REVIEW VERDICT: MyOperator has more reviews and therefore more evidence — both positive and negative. Smartflo has almost none, which cuts both ways: limited negative evidence, but also limited social proof. For a new buyer researching independently, the review gap is a genuine concern for Smartflo. For a buyer who has already engaged with TTBS’s sales team and received reference customers, it matters less.

FEATURE BY FEATURE — WHERE EACH PLATFORM WIN

Core telephony

Both platforms: Multi-level IVR, call routing, call recording, CDR analytics, number masking, click-to-call, missed call management. No material difference at the basic telephony layer for standard deployments.

MyOperator advantage: No-code visual call flow builder that non-technical users can modify without IT involvement. This is a genuine differentiator for small businesses without dedicated IT staff.

Contact centre (CCaaS)

MyOperator: Solid contact centre features — live call widget, sticky agent routing, outbound dialler (as a paid add-on), CRM integration, supervisor dashboard, real-time monitoring. Rated well by SMB customers for ease of use.

Smartflo: Full omnichannel CCaaS — voice, WhatsApp, email, SMS, video in a single dashboard. Intelligent call routing, live barge-in, whisper coaching, AI call quality audit covering 100% of interactions, 20+ CRM integrations. Scales to 300+ SIP channels for large contact centre deployments.

EDGE: Comparable for basic contact centre needs. Smartflo wins on omnichannel depth, AI quality audit, and large-scale deployment capability.

Unified communications (UCaaS)

MyOperator: No UCaaS capability.

Smartflo: Microsoft Teams Operator Connect — full PBX functionality directly inside Teams. TTBS won AudioCodes Live Platform Partner of the Year 2024. For businesses already running Microsoft 365, this is a significant differentiator.

EDGE: Smartflo wins clearly. MyOperator does not compete in this space.

AI capabilities

MyOperator: AI-powered voice and WhatsApp bots, multilingual support, FAQ automation. AI modules available from ₹10,000/month per module. Enterprise AI at ₹2,00,000/month.

Smartflo: Smartflo AI — generative AI, NLU, agentic automation. Multichannel chatbot across WhatsApp, web, RCS, Facebook, Instagram. Smart IVR in 10+ Indian languages. Video meetings with sentiment detection and KYC. 100% AI call quality audit. Agent assist with real-time compliance flagging.

EDGE: Both have AI roadmaps. Smartflo’s multi-language IVR coverage (10+ Indian languages) and 100% call audit are meaningful differentiators for pan-India and regulated deployments. MyOperator’s AI is priced as a significant add-on.

WhatsApp Business

Both: Official WhatsApp Business Solution Provider (BSP) status. Both can run WhatsApp campaigns and customer service at scale.

MyOperator note: WhatsApp marketing message rate quoted at ₹0.95 per message — higher than Meta’s India base rate of ₹0.8631 and higher than some competitors. At 1,00,000 messages per month, that is approximately ₹8,690 more per month than the base Meta rate. Confirm your effective per-message rate before signing.

EDGE: Comparable BSP capability. Verify per-message rates with both vendors before committing to high-volume campaigns.

Compliance — 2026 context

MyOperator: Supports DLT registration, WhatsApp BSP compliance, standard call recording. No published 1600-series native support. No explicit DPDP Act compliance architecture documented publicly.

Smartflo: Native 1600-series provisioning for BFSI transactional calling. DLT-registered 140-series for outbound campaigns. CNAP-compatible number registration. DPDP-compatible data architecture — data residency in India, 128-bit AES encryption, CDR audit trails, role-based access controls. DoT-licensed telco operating under full TRAI/RBI regulatory framework.

EDGE: Smartflo wins decisively for regulated sectors. For BFSI, healthcare, and government procurement, Smartflo’s compliance posture is not a product feature — it is a procurement prerequisite that MyOperator does not fully match.

CRM integrations

MyOperator: Integrates with major CRMs. Sales Mantra is the most prominently documented native integration. API available for custom integrations.

Smartflo: 20+ native CRM integrations — Salesforce, Zoho CRM, Freshdesk, HubSpot, and more. Microsoft Teams Operator Connect. Zoho Desk WhatsApp ticketing. API-first for custom LMS and core banking integrations.

EDGE: Smartflo wins on breadth and depth of documented integrations.

THE DECISION FRAMEWORK — WHO SHOULD CHOOSE WHAT

CHOOSE MYOPERATOR IF:

→ You have 3–10 agents and need a simple, affordable IVR + WhatsApp setup without engineering complexity
→ You want to try before you commit — MyOperator offers a free trial, Smartflo does not
→ Your primary use case is inbound call handling and basic outbound — not high-volume dialler campaigns
→ You do not have a dedicated IT team and need no-code visual call flow editing
→ You are not in a regulated sector with strict vendor compliance requirements
→ Budget is the primary constraint and ₹2,500/month entry price is what makes the decision viable

CHOOSE SMARTFLO IF:

→ You have 15+ agents and run high-volume outbound calling — the pooled minute model delivers better cost predictability at this scale
→ You are in BFSI, healthcare, or government where 1600-series compliance, DPDP-compatible recording, and DoT-licensed infrastructure are procurement prerequisites
→ You need UCaaS — Microsoft Teams Operator Connect alongside your contact centre
→ Carrier-grade uptime with internal resolution accountability matters for your operations
→ The Tata brand credibility is relevant to your procurement approval process — many Indian BFSI institutions have TTBS on approved vendor lists by default
→ You need multi-language AI IVR across 10+ Indian languages for pan-India deployment
→ You are evaluating at 25+ agents where MyOperator’s add-on costs may exceed Smartflo’s all-inclusive pricing

THE HONEST MIDDLE GROUND:

If you are an EdTech company with 1–5 counsellors doing moderate outbound calling, no regulatory pressure, and a non-technical team — run both demos. MyOperator’s visual call flow editor and lower entry price are genuine advantages at this scale. Try the free trial. Test the support responsiveness before you see the negative reviews play out in your own deployment.

If you are a 15+ agent BFSI, BPO, or healthcare team evaluating for a 12-month contract — the review data, compliance posture, and infrastructure model all point toward Smartflo. The one-time setup cost and absence of a free trial are friction points worth acknowledging, but they are outweighed by the structural advantages at this scale.

THREE THINGS TO DO BEFORE DECIDING

01 — RUN THE FULL ADD-ON COST CALCULATION FOR MYOPERATOR
Base plan + auto-dialler + WhatsApp API + AI modules. The headline price and the true monthly cost can be significantly different. Do this calculation before your first MyOperator demo, not after.

02 — ASK BOTH VENDORS THE SAME INFRASTRUCTURE QUESTION
“Do you own the telecom network, or do you lease capacity from third-party carriers?” The answer tells you everything about SLA accountability, regional outage risk, and resolution ownership. There is no wrong answer — but you need to know before you sign.

03 — ASK MYOPERATOR FOR THREE REFERENCE CUSTOMERS IN YOUR VERTICAL
Given the pattern of post-sale support complaints in 2025–2026 reviews, reference checking is more important for MyOperator than for most platforms. Specifically ask to speak to customers who have had a support escalation — not just customers who are currently happy. How a vendor handles problems is more revealing than how they handle smooth deployments.
